FaNGIRL by Rainbow Rowell : A book review

My favorite types of books are the ones that I can fully relate. Ones that I can’t stop thinking about, even after I am done reading it.
That is exactly what happened to me while reading FaNGIRL by Rainbow Rowell

What is this book all about?

Cath, our main character is a girl whose life is about to change completely. She is starting a new life, one she never thought she had to faced alone, having a twin sister with whom she did everything with, even her important fan fiction page of  Simon Snow stories. Now Cath is starting collage with a new rude roommate, juggling between classes and writing the fan fiction, she has alienated her self from the new adventures that college can bring her.  Will Cath handle the pressure of being all alone in this new crazy and lonely world, college? Will Cath move on form her obsession and devotion to Simon Snow, and here fan fiction writing?

Review:

Like I said in the beginning, reading FaNGIRL by Rainbow Rowell fulfilled all my needs in terms of reading a book. I could relate to all the characters, and not only I learned to love each one of them, (Even Cath’s roommate Regan) but I felt I was growing up with them. Thanks to Rainbow Rowell WONDERFUL writing I could feel I was part of the book and that made me love the book even more.
The situations the characters have to face are ALL honest, and VERY relatable. Who hasn’t felt alone? Who hasn’t been afraid of change?  I think in one way or another we can agree that we all have.

In terms of the relationships that we can find in this book I have to say I LOVED THEM ALL.

Cath and Wren: Twin sisters that have always been together. The do get in difficult situations but at the end of the day you see that as the story progresses, both of them find their place in collage and find themselves INDIVIDUALY.

Cath and her Dad: AMAZING. I love her dad’s character but I ADORED how Cath was with him, because it reminds me so much of the kind of relationship I have with my parents. Is a WONDERFUL relationship, but then again, I DID SAY THAT THE BOOK IS AMAZING.

Cath and Regan: Such an honest relationship. I loved how rude Regan could be, but at the same time, she had a warm heart. I liked that even though she changed A LITTLE, she continued to be the same person she was from the beginning, sassy and cruel honest.

Cath and her mother: ……………………… Sad but realistic.

CATH AND LEVI : Now I don’t want to spoil anything because YOU NEED TO READ this book, but I am just going to say that LEVI will forever hold a place in my top 10 fictional boyfriends. THEM together IS MAGIC, and HIS character ALONE is just TOO CUTE for words. Rainbow was JUST perfect writing their story. Love Levi SO much. That is all I need to say.

Overall, I say this book is ONE of my favorites. It is so relatable and so cute that it can make any heart melt. Rainbow Rowell did an terrific job writing characters that you can learn to love and respect. Is just one of the best “becoming of age” novel, one that I will remember (and probably re-read) FOREVER.

There’s no need for me to say it but I rate this book 5/5 stars.
